Kygo has just wiped his Instagram clean, removing every post from his feed, while his Facebook profile picture was changed to a black image and has now been changed to an image of a palm tree. The move has appeared without any caption, statement, or rollout, which is exactly why it has started getting noticed across the dance music space. For an artist at Kygo’s level, a reset like this rarely happens in isolation, and it usually signals that something is being lined up behind the scenes. Nothing has been confirmed, but with Kygo set to perform at S2O Songkran Music Festival in Thailand this April, the timing naturally points people toward the same questions: whether new music is close, whether a bigger project is in motion, or whether this marks the start of a new chapter ahead of his upcoming shows.

Kygo’s recent release history adds context to the timing. His most recent studio album, Kygo, was released in June 2024, following Thrill of the Chase in 2022 and Golden Hour in 2020. During those album periods, his social media presence remained active, with singles shared publicly and older posts left visible throughout each release phase. Since the 2024 album, Kygo has continued to release individual tracks and appear regularly on festival and club lineups, but there has been no clear signal pointing toward another full-length album. In that light, the complete erasure of his Instagram feed, carried out without any announcement or explanation, stands apart from how his recent releases have been communicated.
Skrillex is a recent example of how a social wipe can connect to a real next step. On December 19, 2024, he cleared his Instagram feed and left one post, then publicly spoke about entering a new phase while confirming that his 15-year deal with Atlantic Records was coming to an end, with a final project still expected under that agreement before he releases independently. Swedish House Mafia made a similarly clear move on June 11, 2025, wiping their website and social platforms down to a single Instagram post captioned “3.0” with a dark group image. That reset was followed shortly after by the announcement of a new single, “Wait So Long,” scheduled for June 20, 2025, positioned ahead of their return to major festival stages. In both cases, the wipe itself was not the announcement, but the moment that marked the transition into the next phase.
For now, Kygo has not shared any explanation around the reset, and no announcement has followed the changes across his social platforms. The erasure of his Instagram feed and the shift in his online presence have been left without context, which is why the move has continued to hold attention and has not faded quickly. The timing has also placed more focus on what may come next, particularly with his appearance at S2O Songkran Music Festival scheduled for 13 April 2026. Whether the erased feed connects to new music, a broader project, or a change in how upcoming work is introduced remains unclear. Until Kygo addresses the reset directly or shares something new, the erasure itself remains the only visible signal, leaving its purpose open.
